Human = ( X - Y ) / Z : a poem

For AroWriMo 2021. The theme was humanity. 

Human = ( X - Y ) / Z

What is human?

to have homo sapien DNA

a bipedal primate

to pass the turing test

to seek purpose and meaning in our lives

the ability to communicate new and unique thoughts through language

the desire to create and express

to care, to strive

to love -

                   romantically.





What am I then,

             if for a time 

                       I am silenced?

                       I am hollowed out, coccooned, waiting to breathe again?

             if

                   forever and always

                        I do not love in the way I have been told I would love?





Whyever did you try to distill human 

         down into a single 


        solitary

         

        universal essence

        as though,                    in all our beautifully infinite variety,

        we would express our core nature in a 

                         replicatable

                         robotic

                         redunant

                                               way

It's time for the  Carnival of Aros ! 🎊 The Theme: Stories Life is full of stories: the ones we tell ourselves, the ones we tell others, and the ones we are told. Happy  Aro Tunes Thursday ! A weekly call on Aggresively Arospec's Tumbr for songs that "make you feel proudy arospec" or "you feel like claiming for the community for no particular reason." The original intention of Aro Tunes Thursday is to submit songs to Aggresively Arospec and see all the songs others submitted.
